¶ Installation
MeshmerizeOS can be directly installed through the EnGenius web UI.
- Power the device
- Connect to open wifi SSID: EnGMTxxxx-Cloud_ERR (xxxx = last digits of ETH MAC). Open the management page on 172.30.100.1
- Alternatively the device will run a DHCP client to receive an IP address from a DHCP server on the network.
- Open “Local Settings” page
- Scroll to bottom, upload factory image
- Red LED will start blinking, SSID disconnects
The device is unavailable during the Firmware upgrade process and must restart when the upgrade is completed. Any connections to or through the device will be lost.
¶ Recovering an unreachable ECW260
If your ECW260 becomes unreachable because of an incorrect network configuration or an interrupted system startup, you can use the power cable to start its built-in recovery firmware.
The ECW260 does not have a physical reset button.
¶ Starting recovery mode
- Disconnect power from the ECW260.
- Reconnect power and wait 20-30 seconds.
- Disconnect power again.
- Repeat this power-on, wait and power-off sequence four times.
- Reconnect power for the fifth time and leave it connected.
On the fifth startup, the device should restart automatically into the original EnGenius recovery firmware. The automatic restart may look like an additional reboot. Do not disconnect power during it.
Wait several minutes for the EnGenius management interface to become available.
¶ Reinstalling MeshmerizeOS
Once the EnGenius interface is available run the regular factory installation.
¶ If recovery does not start
Make sure each powered interval lasts approximately 20 seconds. Switching power too quickly may prevent the device from recording the attempt.
